Pink rose realistic cake

Isn't this a pretty little cake?

This was a really fun one and I plan on doing more. The dollar store had these flat round foam pieces in sets of 2 so I bought 2, cut and layered them, then painted the inside of foam cream. To get the pice cut straight I just traced the circle on a piece of paper, folded it to get it into a third and traced onto the foam then cut with razor each one individually.
I stuck it together with white caulking, with out squishing the inside pieces so there was more room to show the "frosting"

then let that dry before you do the outside or else it will move when you are working with it. Then I just covered with white, then pumped a whole tube into a bowl added pink paint and mixed it up. I put it in a frosting bag with tube and did the rosettes all over then let dry. I really love this one!

COCONUT CAKE

How fun is this little cake? Thank you dollar store for the sponge, I have just been trying out different sponges/foams on the fake cakes to see what works best. This is just a little body sponge, covered in latex caulking and then covered with fake Christmas snow flakes. I sculpted the cherries and then used a cake piping tip on the caulking tube, put the circles on top and put on some cherries. So easy and all squishy so it's nice for tiny hands to play with!

Making realistic cookies/brownies with salt dough

I wanted to share what is now my favorite recipe for realism in the baking cookies department. So much easier then the paper clay coloring as shown HERE  Here is the recipe
4c flour
1 1/2 c water
1c salt
mix it up and sculpt then airdry!
I baked mine in the oven on the lowest temp just to get them drier faster so I could "Frost" them.
I put a few drops of brown paint in the dough to darken it a tiny bit to look more realistic. I almost forgot to take a pic of what it looked like unpainted. Because of the salt content it made it hard to get the dough dark enough so I just used a chocolate colored paint after and it worked wonderfully! see pics below.

 comparison of sliced piece painted

here it is painted and "frosted" isn't is beautiful! I made this to fit into one of my daughters toy baking dishes she loves to pretend to cut and serve this one.  you can see that it shrunk a bit when it dried. but I'd rather have it be a bit too small than too big and not fit.

Fake Chocolate

Doesn't this fake Chocolate look REAL and YUMMY? I can't wait to use them I think on some fake cupcakes or cakes it would be perfect décor!

mini tiny petit fours /chocolate

I was making everything else in tiny form so I went ahead and made tiny petit fours cakes they are about 1/2 inch wide and chocolate flavor.
AREN'T THEY PRECIOUS! These are FAKE TOY FOOD that look realistic aren't they fun? I need to find something to put them in a little box or something not sure...

Little luncheon

So I took my little circle cutter, about 1.5 inches and cute my big ham into little ham.

I bought some Italian bread, breadsticks and cut off the rounded edges on both sides

Then cut into thirds, slice in half length wise to make a tiny hoagie bun

Then fill! I cut some grape tomatoes, added little slices of cheese also cut with my round cutter, then ham and a little spinach
Added tiny chips and isn't this the most adorable little sandwich ever?

 Here is the whole table

For dessert we had some tiny rice crispy treat balls

small glasses can be found at World Market they add such a cute tiny touch in the right size for little hands.
